AARP Membership Application (How to Verify, Signup and Renew an AARP member)

1  Verifying Existing AARP Membership

There are two search options to verify a customer’s AARP membership.

Note: The membership application can also be accessed through homepage.

A. Search using AARP membership number as shown in label 

Hartford Agents Please Note: The Hartford’s QTI system does not show 10 digit AARP membership numbers. Alternatively, please search member by first name, last name, etc. 

 

OR

B. Search by member details as shown in label 

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Zip Code
  • Date of Birth

Once you enter the information and click the SEARCH button next to the parameters you set, you will get the following options:

  1.  If customer is an Active Member, the following screen appears. It will show as an Active Member and will display the membership expiration date.

United Agents Please Note:  For AARP Medicare Supplement Insurance applications use the number in the orange box as shown below.


If customers account is about to expire, it will display the following message. You can click on the Renew button to renew membership.

  1. If customer’s AARP membership has EXPIRED, the following screen appears. You have two options on the Membership Expired screen. Please see the image below.

To Renew AARP membership, please click RENEW button. After clicking RENEW button, please make sure the prepopulated information in membership information renew page is accurate.

Note: Membership information in renew page is prepopulated but you can edit it if needed. 

  1. If customer’s AARP membership is NOT FOUND you will see the following screen.

Note:  You will see Click here link on the pop-up which will display membership support information. Below is how the screen will look like when you click on the Click here link.

2  Signing Up a New AARP Member

Clicking the SIGN UP A NEW MEMBER button will take you to the membership enrollment page.

STEP 1: New Member Information
Please make sure that the information is correct and click on the BILLING & PAYMENT button.

Step 2: Billing & Payment
Be sure to enter ALL requested billing and payment information. Alternatively you can choose to click on auto-filling the billing details by clicking on “Billing info is the same as my application info”.

Step 3: Confirmation
When you submit your application you will get a confirmation screen. Please note it takes 2-3 weeks for permanent card to arrive in mail.

3  Renew Member Information

Step 1: Member Information- Renew
You must verify for a member first in order to renew their membership

Step 2: Billing & Payment
Be sure to enter ALL requested billing and payment information. Alternatively you can choose to click on auto-filling the billing details by clicking on “Billing info is the same as my application info”.

Step 3: Confirmation
When you submit your application you will get a confirmation screen. Please note it takes 2-3 weeks for permanent card to arrive in mail.
